The event, hosted by the Amantran Cultural Association, brought together community members for days filled with devotion, cultural performances, and traditional festivities.

Amantran Cultural Association proudly presents the Dhunuchi Naach Contest on October 5th at 3:30 PM at Pine Ridge Secondary School, Pickering.

We are excited to share the Durga Pujo schedule with you. Join us as we offer our prayers to the Goddess with humility and devotion.

This is our very second celebration of the homecoming and it will be forever etched in our collective memory as a special moment of coming together as Bengali community in the heart of our adopted home, Durham.

Bhog and Prasad (sponsored by Royal Darbar, Pakka Local and Simply South) will be distributed on a first come, first served basis to all present at the Pujo Ceremony at the said times.

Non members are welcome to join. There is no entry fee.

We want everyone to come to our Pujo and feel blessed and rejuvenated.

Amantran is proud to partner with Feed the Need in Durham (FTND) in hosting its second drive to collect non perishable food items. Please support us in making this initiative a success!

FTND collects more than 150,000 pounds of food and thousands of dollars annually through community food and fund drives sponsored by individuals, corporations, clubs, schools, and associations.

Last time Amantran was able to collect 118 lbs that was equivalent to 98 meals with your support.

We are busy planning our second pujo in Durham. Committed to curate an experience for the entire family, we are of course starting with our kids. There is much more to come, but here are a couple of events that we have on our calendars to engage and entertain the little ones. We are welcoming members, sponsors and vendors. Amantran families came together to experience fun, food and games on a bright summer day. This year, our picnic was graced with the presence of many of our parents, which will remain a core memory for our kids looking back on this summer. The on premise cooking and steaming cups of cha added the right dose of chaos and flavour to honour the vintage and rustic theme of the day. Cricket, spontaneous music performances, laughter, reels and quintessential bangali adda, christened the spirit of one big noisy family gathering.

This Saraswati Pujo, Amantran was able to collect 118 lbs of food items with the support of our patrons and members in our first ever food drive. This humble effort was in collaboration with Feed the Need in Durham.

Our team has planned a cultural evening for you and your family to enjoy, and participate in.

There will be music, dance and other performances. The evening concludes in prize distribution and dinner.

With a heavy heart we bid adieu to our Maa Durga. Do join us for Sindur Khela as we celebrate the Woman in the daughter, mother and wife within all of us.

The evening begins with Dhunuchi competition, pauses for a gluttonous Puchka Competition and continues with a remarkable performance by Sumana and many other artists. This weekend will be one you fondly remember years from now!

Kids can challenge the Van Gogh in themselves to win the Drawing Competition. Our food vendors will offer a variety of snacks to savour while you indulge in a little shopping spree.
